How I made and set up my birdbox cam
This is the birdhouse. I had no plans (obviously) and it took me about an hour to make. The top is hinged and slanted so steeply to allow the camera to be well above the floor.
The camera is mounted to the top of the box and adusted to look down. The camera is a wireless and waterproof. I got it off of ebay for around $30 plus shipping. It has infared led's to make it a night vision camera.
The birdhouse hangs in an apple tree in our backyard. The camera is wireless, but it does require an electrical source for power. I ran an extension cord up the tree, tying it close to the trunk. The reciever for the camera plugs into the video input of the TV card on my computer. I use a free open source script (YAWCAM) to send the captured images to the webserver.
